Mother Nature may have played spoiler for the sport at Michigan International Speedway, but the Trackhouse Racing crew is keeping their spirits up with some fun on the side.
The race started after two hours of rain, and the drivers were able to complete the first session before the weather started, delaying the race until 11 a.m. ET Monday. . The gray clouds hanging over Michigan’s famous 2-mile D-shaped track didn’t stop NASCAR’s youngest team from taking a good chance, even if it cost Daniel Suarez. After starting the race in 12th place, Daniel Suarez is hoping that the Michigan International will be his chance to double his victory tally.
The 32-year-old won at Atlanta Motor Speedway earlier this season, and thanks to strong shoulders going into the final, Suarez was on top despite the length of the FireKeepers Casino 400. Trackhouse Racing is the smallest team on the block, owned by Justin Marquez, Pit Bull and Avenue Sports Fund. The company was founded in 2021 and has only one car with Daniel Suarez behind the wheel, number 25 in the first season.
Ross Chastain joined the team the following year, and at some point the team fielded a third car called PROJECT 91. The car featured drivers such as the famous F1 driver and Kimi Raikkonen and Shane van Gisbergen. As the trade deadline approaches, it’s great to see NASCAR teams having fun before the pressure starts.
With three races remaining in the season, Trackhouse Racing hopes Ross Chastain will join Daniel Suarez in the finals. Chastain started the race at Michigan International Speedway in seventh place but fell to 10th at the end of the first session and will look to climb the ladder when racing resumes on Monday.

After a two-week break from the Olympics, where Daniel Suarez got married and competed in the NASCAR Brazil Series, the driver spoke again. The Monterey-born rider will compete in a fifth consecutive season with Trackhouse Racing after extending his contract with the team until the end of 2025.
While some may be surprised by a one-year contract, the contract includes several performance-based incentives that can extend the length of the contract if goals are met. Daniel Suarez said about his contract extension: “The Trackhouse is my home and I’ve enjoyed every minute I’ve been here. We plan to keep working, growing and winning more races.
We can only do this with my support. Amigos and Amigas at Azad Rah supported me and we are close to their 99 customers and employees who have entered the third tournament in the 2025 season. Although the team looks to expand upon the purchase of the third-placed charter from Stewart Haas Racing, Shane van Gisbergen is the main candidate to take that seat.
