New Update: Dallas Cowboys Signed RB Dalvin Cook…

Dalvin Cook has a new home as the veteran running back is slated to join the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Cook, 29, spent 2023 with the New York Jets and Baltimore Ravens after playing the first six seasons of his NFL career with the Minnesota Vikings.

If necessary, Cook could be called up to the Cowboys’ Week 1 roster. For now, he will start the season with the training team.

In 15 games with the Jets last season, Cook rushed for 214 yards on 67 attempts with no touchdowns. In his first season with the Vikings, Cook was one of the best players in the NFL. He made four Pro Bowls from 2019 to 2022 while recording more than 1,300 yards in each of those campaigns.

Cook had shoulder surgery in 2023 and was released by the Vikings before the start of camp. After signing with the Jets, he took on a supporting role as part of the committee.

The Jets released Cook before the season ended and he signed with the Ravens for next season. He carried the ball eight times for 23 yards in Baltimore’s round-robin win over the Houston Texans. He did not play in Baltimore against the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game. He was a free agent all year.

Cook joins a Cowboys running back that includes Ezekiel Elliott, Rico Dowdell and Davis Vaughan.

Cook met with the Cowboys this week before Tuesday’s roster split. According to reports, he was scheduled to face the Indianapolis Celts this weekend, but may have to cancel.
