Former Indiana Women’s Basketball Guard Grace Berger Released by Indiana Fever

According to Underdog WNBA’s X post on Sunday, the Indiana Fever have officially waived guard Grace Berger.

The former Indiana Hoosiers standout was selected as the No. 7 overall pick in the 2023 WNBA Draft after spending five seasons with the Indiana Hoosiers women’s basketball team under head coach Teri Moren.

Berger earned WNBA All-Rookie honors in 2023, but her role diminished in 2024 following the selection of global superstar Caitlin Clark as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft.

Over her two seasons in Indianapolis, Berger appeared in 47 games, averaging 13.3 minutes per contest while recording 4.2 points and 1.9 assists per game.

During her collegiate career at Indiana, Berger was a four-time All-Big Ten First Team selection. She finished with 1,841 career points, 573 assists, and 752 rebounds across five seasons in Bloomington.

If Berger clears waivers, she will become an unrestricted free agent, free to sign with any WNBA team of her choosing.
