Victaria Saxton, born on November 10, 1999, in Rome, Georgia, is an American professional basketball player known for her defensive prowess and leadership on the court. She is the daughter of Consuelo and Victor Saxton and has an older sister, Charron, and an older brother, Victor.

High School Career

Saxton attended Model High School in Rome, Georgia, where she made a significant impact on the basketball court. She set a school record with 2,622 career points and was ranked 47th overall in the 2018 high school class by ESPN’s HoopGurlz rankings, placing her as the 6th-rated forward. Her outstanding performance led her to sign with the University of South Carolina in November 2017.

Collegiate Career at South Carolina

From 2018 to 2023, Saxton played for the South Carolina Gamecocks, where she was a cornerstone of the team’s success. She started 105 of 166 career games, contributing to three SEC Regular-Season championships, three SEC Tournament titles, and three NCAA Final Four appearances, including the 2022 National Championship. Saxton served as a team captain for four years and was recognized for her defensive skills, ranking among the SEC’s top 15 in blocks per game each of her first four seasons.

Professional Career

In the 2023 WNBA Draft, Saxton was selected 25th overall by the Indiana Fever, joining her college teammate Aliyah Boston. During her rookie season, she appeared in 15 games, scoring in six and recording a season-high five points on two occasions. Over her two-year tenure with the Fever, Saxton played in 24 games, averaging 1.1 points and 0.5 rebounds per game. On February 3, 2025, she was waived by the team as part of roster adjustments.

Academic Achievements

Off the court, Saxton excelled academically. She earned a bachelor’s degree in criminology and criminal justice in May 2022 and later obtained a master’s degree in coaching education from the University of South Carolina.

As of February 2025, Victaria Saxton is a free agent, bringing her defensive expertise and leadership qualities to potential opportunities in professional basketball.
