Taylor Stremlow, hailing from Verona, Wisconsin, is a freshman guard for the University of Iowa women’s basketball team. During her high school career at Verona Area High School, she distinguished herself as a versatile and dynamic player. In her junior year, Stremlow earned accolades including Big 8 Conference Player of the Year, First Team All-Conference, First Team All-Area, and WBCA All-State First Team honors. She averaged impressive statistics: 16.1 points, 10 rebounds, 9 assists, 7 steals, and 0.9 blocks per game. Her senior year saw her leading the team to a remarkable 26-1 record, culminating in a Division 1 sectional semifinal appearance. She posted averages of 18.3 points, 9.7 rebounds, 9.2 assists (leading the state), and 5.8 steals per game. Stremlow’s high school career totals include 1,065 points, 600 rebounds, 562 assists, 377 steals, and 75 blocks. Her exceptional performance earned her the title of the state’s top senior point guard and a finalist spot for Ms. Basketball.

Off the court, Stremlow excelled academically, being recognized as WBCA Academic All-State and a member of the National Honor Society. She is currently pursuing a major in Business Marketing at the University of Iowa.

As she transitions into her collegiate career, Stremlow has been noted for her high basketball IQ and playmaking abilities. Assistant coach Abby Stamp remarked on her potential impact, stating, “Taylor’s a playmaker. The way that she can pass the ball, she plays off two feet, always has great balance, she’s somebody that our fans are really going to love.”

Stremlow’s unique skill set and dedication position her as a promising contributor to the Hawkeyes’ success in the upcoming seasons.
