Dan Quinn Shares Dallas Cowboys Farewell, Washington Commanders Promise After Head Coach Move

Dan Quinn is now officially the Washington Commanders’ head coach, and as he bids farewell to the Dallas Cowboys, he also delivered a bold promise that will get the fans from the nation’s capital really excited.

Quinn is taking over a Commanders team that ranked dead last in defense in 2023. Sure enough, there’s a lot of work waiting for him as he looks to lead the franchise’s turnaround.

Despite that, however, he is focused on his mission of transforming the team to a Super Bowl contender. Dan Quinn’s Parting Message for Dallas Cowboys, Promise for Washington Commanders

On Saturday, the Commanders officially named Quinn as their head coach. The team shared a press release confirming the hire, including a statement from the former Cowboys defensive coordinator himself.

Quinn shared his excitement about taking command, adding that their mission from the beginning was to become a Super Bowl contender in the next few years.

Of course it won’t be easy, but Quinn is doing her best to take on the challenge.
He also said goodbye and thanked the Cowboys, with whom he served as DC under head coach Mike McCarthy from 2021-23.

“I’m thrilled to be the next coach of such a legendary team and fan base. Under the ownership group of Josh Harris and the leadership of Adam Peters, we look forward to ushering in a new era of Washington Commanders football.

The organization has a great vision and I am honored to be a part of what lies ahead,” said Quinn. “I would like to thank coaches Jerry Jones, Stephen Jones, Mike McCarthy and the entire Dallas Cowboys organization for the past three seasons.

The players, coaching staff, and team all became family in a short period of time. “We have a tremendous task ahead of us, but our ownership group, Adam and I are working tirelessly to achieve our goal of consistently competing for the Super Bowl every year.”

This is exactly what Commanders fans want to hear from the new director. But hopefully the team will be able to feel his impact soon.

For a franchise that has made the playoffs only five times in the past 23 years, there is naturally a strong desire to see the team make the postseason again.

Now Quinn is under pressure to complete his mission. Is Dan Quinn the right coach for the Washington Commanders? Dan Quinn has been one of the top head coaching candidates for years.

Thanks to his work with the Dallas Cowboys, he’s made a lot of noise in the coaching market. It’s no wonder Washington’s front office hired him. Especially because defense is Washington’s biggest weakness.

Under Quinn, the Cowboys were a top-five defensive team in the class of 2023. And, of course, he is fully capable of doing the same in Washington.
He also has extensive coaching experience, including serving as head coach of the Atlanta Falcons from 2015 to 2020, reaching the postseason twice during that time.

Of course, the biggest question is whether commanders can quickly join the Queen system. If that’s the case, it wouldn’t be hard to see a Washington team fighting for a playoff spot.
