It appears it is still possible for Liverpool to secure a transfer for a midfielder who could be an ideal addition to Jürgen Klopp’s squad in what’s left of the window

With Fabinho and Jordan Henderson leaving for Saudi Arabia, Liverpool are now once again targeting newcomers.

Prior to the veteran duo’s departure, the Reds may have been satisfied with the arrival of just Roméo Lavia.

But even if Liverpool can sign the Southampton midfielder, it is clear that alone will not be enough for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

During his press conference according to This is Anfield, Klopp confirmed the club are working on ‘solutions’ in midfield.

His use of the plural here could indicate the number of potential signings at Anfield this summer.

But who could be next? A possible midfielder on Liverpool’s radar is Khephren Thuram.

Capable of playing on the left and right sides of midfield, Thuram fulfills many requirements for Liverpool.

This was confirmed when spoke to their former ACBB academy administrator Franck Plaine.

When asked to recall his first impression of Thuram, Plaine highlighted the midfielder’s energy:

“He kept running and running and running in the middle of the park,” Scanvic recalled. “That’s what struck me first.

He had so much energy. But his technique was also brilliant. A great player, always with a smile on his face and a lot of intelligence.

However, in the last few weeks since Dominik Szoboszlai’s arrival, talk of Thuram’s possible move to Liverpool has died down.

However, given the developments around Fabinho and Henderson, this attitude towards Thuram could change and tensions could flare up again.

Especially based on the recent comments by the Nice director on the midfielder’s situation.

Speaking to the press at the unveiling of new signings Jeremie Boga and Morgan Sanson on Friday, Nice sporting director Florent Ghisolfi was asked about spending at the club, particularly on Thuram and Jean-Clair Todibo.

Thuram and Todibo are coveted. We hope to keep all our key players, but we have never drawn anyone.

If all parties are satisfied, there could be a departure” Ghisolfi said, according to France Bleu Azur.

The sporting director of Nice had certainly not ruled out a possible move for Thuram. His suggestion that “there could be a way out” only opens the door for Liverpool to make a move.

A transfer that could provide the depth and ammunition Klopp’s midfield needs right now.

Few players have the energy, intelligence and tactical versatility to match Klopp’s gripping football quite like Thuram.

Combined with the arrival of a defensive midfielder in Lavia, his arrival could be an ideal way for Liverpool to complement the club’s spending in midfield.

Though midfield alone probably isn’t the only area the Reds still need to strengthen.
