Jahan Dotson hilariously tries to persuade a Dallas Cowboys star to join the Washington Commanders.

Jahan Dotson Does Funny Attempt to Recruit Dallas Cowboys Star to the Washington Commanders

The Washington Commanders are gearing up ahead of the 2024 NFL season, and they are off to a good start.

After hiring former Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn to be the Washington Commanders’ next head coach, Jahan Dotson perhaps wants to kick things up a notch, as he made a hilarious pitch to recruit another key member of the Cowboys.

The Washington Commanders wide receiver made a post on his X (formerly known as Twitter) account with an old January headline of Micah Parsons saying that he might join Dan Quinn wherever he goes if he leaves Dallas, making it known that he will gladly take the 2021 NFL Defensive Player of the Year as his new teammate.“We welcome you with open arms brotha 😆” wrote Dotson in his post on Friday.

Why is Jahan Dotson “recruiting” Micah Parsons? Micah Parsons is currently one of the best defensive players in the NFL.

During the 2023 regular season, the 24-year-old linebacker recorded 14 sacks, 64 combined tackles, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

Under Dan Quinn, the Cowboys allowed just 3,481 passing yards in 2023, fifth-worst in the NFL, and just 18.5 points per game.

The Dallas Cowboys finished the regular season 12-5 and in first place in the NFC East, but were eliminated early in the postseason by the seventh-ranked Green Bay Packers.

Jahan Dotson and Micah Parsons played together at Penn State, with the former totaling 2,757 receiving yards and 25 touchdowns over four seasons and the latter recording 191 tackles and 6.5 sacks over two years.

In 2023, Jahan Dotson had 49 catches for 518 receiving yards and four touchdowns on 83 targets. And with a new coaching staff in Washington, the 23-year-old wide receiver will be looking for a better campaign in 2024.

Will Jahan Dotson get his wish? Micah Parsons still has two years left on his rookie contract with the Dallas Cowboys, so it’s unlikely he’ll join Jahan Dotson and the Washington Commanders anytime soon.

However, along with Dan Quinn, the Washington Commanders could be a likely destination for Micah Parsons when he becomes a free agent after 2025.

If so, it will be interesting to see how Dan Quinn and company transition as a team. Look for a way to stop Micah Parsons when they face the Dallas Cowboys next season.
