Young Mongolian Judokas Set to Compete in Junior European Cup Series

Ulaanbaatar, February 6, 2025 /MONTSAME/ – The Junior European Cup series tournaments are set to begin on February 8, 2025, in the Italian Republic and the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Mongolian young athletes, under the leadership of Hero of Labor of Mongolia Kh. Tsagaanbaatar, Olympic and World Championship bronze medalist G. Otgontsetseg, and International Master D. Altansukh, have officially registered for these prestigious competitions. The Genova Cadet European Cup-2025 will take place in Genova, Italy, while the Sarajevo Junior European Cup-2025 will be held in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. These tournaments provide world ranking points and serve as qualification events for the Cadet and Junior World Championships.

The Italian tournament is designated for athletes aged 15 to 17. As of today, 523 judokas from 21 countries have registered to compete. Representing Mongolia, 11 male and six female judokas will take part.

The men’s team includes:

50 kg: T. Tugskhuslen

55 kg: P. Altantsooj

60 kg: B. Tsolmon-Od, N. Tegsh-Ochir, B. Sodmandakh66 kg: N. Erdemdalai, B. Chingunjav

73 kg: B. Dalaitseren, B. Temuulen, B. Gerelt-Och

90 kg: L. Khulegu


The women’s team includes:

44 kg: Ts. Amin-Erdene

52 kg: B. Gundegmaa

57 kg: B. Tsendbazar, E. Oyundelger

63 kg: Kh. Maralmaa

70 kg: Sh. Ariunmunkh


Meanwhile, the Sarajevo tournament in Bosnia and Herzegovina is open to athletes aged 15 to 20. Currently, 395 judokas from 23 countries have confirmed their participation. Representing Mongolia, last year’s Cadet World Championship silver medalists B. Bat-Enerel and M. Tergelsar will compete in the -60 kg category.

73 kg: B. Dalaitseren, B. Temuulen, B. Gerelt-Och

90 kg: L. Khulegu

The women’s team includes:
