Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah brings the same “energy” as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo – Egypt boss Rui Vitoria

Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah has been compared to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, while one pundit tipped the Reds to sign João Palhinha after his move to Bayern Munich fell through.

“Salah is like Messi and Ronaldo” Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah brings the same “energy” as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, Egypt boss Rui Vitoria has told the Record.

Vitoria says the presence of a figure like Salah transmits “positivity” in the camp, holding everyone in and around the team accountable, and believes there are very few players who have such an impact.

“Salah is very important in our national team,” he said.

“And these players who are world figures are actually very important in the various teams they represent.

“We remember Messi, we remember Cristiano Ronaldo, we remember Salah, maybe Neymar, [Kylia] Mbappé. Big teams have such a player.

And our Salah brings great positivity to the whole group. You can feel the positive energy transmitted. You can also feel the team’s pride in such a player.

“And the daily impact these players have is huge. Sometimes they don’t even realize it. But they’re driving the demand.

And when I say demand, I mean demand from everyone. All coaches, colleagues, structures that must be at a high level to monitor the performance of these players as well.

And this is a very big challenge even for Egypt. To get these types of players, we all need to raise our talent level. But they are decisive.”

Salah will join his international teammates in a friendly during this month’s international break.

They first face Zambia on Thursday before traveling to Algeria on Monday.

He will captain his country at the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast on New Year’s Eve as they aim to avenge their 2022 final loss to Senegal and become champions of the continent for the first time since 2010.

According to Transfermarkt, Salah is Egypt’s all-time top scorer , netting 49 times in his 89 matches. Liverpool ordered to get Palhinha

BBC Sport pundit Robbie Savage says Fulham defensive midfielder João Palhinha would be a “fantastic” fit for Liverpool.

The Reds sold Fabinho to Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad in the summer transfer window, and new number six Wataru Endō has started just one Premier League game so far.

Palhinha came close to joining Bayern Munich in a $71m (£56m/€65m) deal on transfer deadline day – a move agreed with a swoop for Liverpool’s Ryan Gravenberch – but collapsed as Fulham failed to find a replacement (via ESPN ).

The 28-year-old has since signed a new five-year deal at Craven Cottage, which is unlikely to have a release clause (via Sky Sports).

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live (via Anfield Central), Savage urged Liverpool to make Palhinha their latest midfield addition, linking him with Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.

He said: “He’s a very good player. He’s going to Bayern and the transfer went through. A fantastic player.

Liverpool have moved well in those areas, there is more dynamism, Szoboszlai and Mac Allister are good signings, recruitment has been good and I think it has really gone under the radar.

But I think Palhinha would suit Liverpool very well.

Sky Sports reporter Melissa Reddy previously claimed on Twitter (July 15) that the club were “looking” at signing Palhinha without making a formal offer of interest.

The former sportsman, who made more saves than anyone in Europe’s top five last season, has started the last four Premier League games for Fulham, who currently sit 12th in the Premier League.
