Micah Parsons responded to new Dallas Cowboys coach Mike Zimmer when he announced his defensive plans

New Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer met with the media at a news conference at The Star on Wednesday and joked about how old DFW reporters have gotten since he last worked here 20 years ago. But what is more important than meeting.

With a clash with the best player under his watch, Micah Parsons will certainly help in that regard. And the three-time All-Pro Lion linebacker is happy with what he has.

“He broke the record and confirmed that he’s done really well (in his career),” Parsons said, via NFL Network. “From what I’ve heard, he’s a very good coach. I am very excited to meet him and find out what he has planned for my future. …”I think that would be really interesting.

“Zimmer replaces Dan Quinn in Washington, who had a very close relationship with Parsons. Parsons and Zimmer’s gridiron and how Parsons is used will determine whether this matchup is a success in 2024 under Lame Duck coach Mike McCarthy (who Zimmer coached from 1995 to 2006).

Zimmer said it was too early to reveal defense plans. “Honestly, at the end of the day it’s about what the players can do. … The idea is great.

But what can they do?

But while he acknowledged Quinn’s success, he added this to Zimmer about his plans in Dallas: “We’re not trying to reinvent the wheel here.”

They were very good.”Parsons was great because he was looking for ways to make Dallas better. “It takes a collective group, and I think everybody agrees,” Parsons said. “It doesn’t matter who you are, from senior players to coaches, players and training staff.

I think they should all be arrested. Everyone has to participate and it starts with OTA. How many people will learn this new system?”We all know Zimmer has a very low tolerance for anyone who doesn’t “buy it”.

He has a reputation for smiling here.”I have a reputation as a dork,” he said, but pointed to the number of players who wanted to congratulate him on his move. “If I’d been that stupid, I don’t think any of them would have heard.”
