About the New Additions
Satou Sabally
A two-time WNBA All-Star (2021, 2023) and 2023 All-WNBA First Team selection, Sabally was drafted second overall by Dallas in the 2020 WNBA Draft. The 6-foot-4 forward has spent her entire five-year career with the Wings, posting career averages of 15.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.1 steals over 97 games.
At 26, Sabally joins Tamika Catchings as the only players in WNBA history to average at least 15.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists through their first 90 career games. In 2024, she averaged 17.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, a career-high 5.0 assists, and 1.3 steals across 15 games (missing 25 due to injury). She also shot a career-best 45.2% from three-point range, ranking second in the league among players with 75+ attempts.
In 2023, Sabally was named KIA WNBA Most Improved Player, earned her first All-WNBA First Team honor, and started in the All-Star Game. She became just the second player in WNBA history, after Candace Parker (2015), to average at least 18.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists in a season. Internationally, Sabally, who has German and Gambian heritage, led Germany to a quarterfinal appearance in the 2024 Paris Olympics—the nation’s first Olympic appearance in women’s basketball history.
Alyssa Thomas
A five-time WNBA All-Star (2017, 2019, 2022-24), three-time All-WNBA selection (2022-24), and six-time All-Defensive Team member (2017, 2019-20, 2022-24), Thomas is the league’s all-time leader in regular-season (11) and playoff (4) triple-doubles. The 11-year veteran has finished in the top five in MVP voting in each of the last three seasons.
In 2024, Thomas posted 10.6 points on 50.9% shooting, 8.4 rebounds (9th in WNBA), 7.9 assists (2nd in WNBA), and 1.6 steals, earning her second consecutive All-WNBA First Team selection. Over her 11-year career with Connecticut, she averaged 12.2 points on 48.3% shooting, 7.5 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 1.6 steals in 319 games.
Thomas helped lead the Sun to two WNBA Finals appearances (2019, 2022) and six consecutive semifinal berths, departing as the franchise’s all-time leader in minutes, rebounds, assists, steals, field goals, and free throws. Originally drafted fourth overall by New York in 2014, she was traded to Connecticut on draft night. Thomas also won gold medals with Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics and the 2022 FIBA World Cup.
Kalani Brown
The 6-foot-7 center played 39 games for Dallas last season, averaging 5.7 points on 58.2% shooting and 3.1 rebounds in 13.3 minutes per game. Among reserve centers, she recorded the most double-digit scoring games off the bench (7).
Brown has been one of the most efficient shooters in the league over the past two seasons, boasting a 60.5% field goal percentage (highest among players with at least 300 attempts). Across her five-year career with Dallas (2023-24), Atlanta (2020-21), and Los Angeles (2019), she has averaged 5.9 points on 56.6% shooting and 3.4 rebounds in 110 games. She was originally selected seventh overall in the 2019 WNBA Draft by the Sparks.
Sevgi Uzun
The 5-foot-10 guard played all 40 games (19 starts) as a rookie with Dallas in 2024, averaging 4.4 points, 1.6 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 0.9 steals in 20.5 minutes per game. Among rookies, she ranked third in assists per game and sixth in steals per game.
The 27-year-old played professionally in Turkey for over a decade before joining the WNBA, winning the 2024 EuroLeague Championship with Fenerbahçe. Uzun is also a two-time Turkish Super League champion (2021, 2024) and was named Turkish League Domestic Player of the Year in 2023.
