CeeDee Lamb says he’s waiting for a call from the Cowboys amid contract rumors.

CeeDee Lamb is waiting to hear from the Dallas Cowboys in hopes of securing a long-term contract before the start of the 2024 season.

“Controlling what I can control, this is the best version of me,” he added. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Tuesday that Lamb and the Cowboys are “not that far along” in contract talks. Lamb has been held out of training camp, and Dallas will be eager to have him on the field for their Week 1 game against the Cleveland Browns on Sept. 8. On Tuesday, according to ESPN’s Todd Archer , Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said the team is in a “good relationship” with Lamb and that contract talks are “prospective.” “I think we’re going to be together,” Jones said through Archer. “I don’t want to speak for him, I try to avoid it. “But if we didn’t want him here, we wouldn’t be offering him what we’re offering now.”

Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News reported on August 16 that Dallas offered Lamb a contract worth “less than $33 million per season.” That ranks him second in average salary among NFL wide receivers, behind only Minnesota Vikings star Justin Jefferson (per Spotrac). After setting a franchise single-season record with 135 catches for 1,749 yards in 2023, Lamb is slated to make just under $18 million before becoming a free agent in 2025. As the start of the season approaches regular, Lamb and the Cowboys could be ready to resume extension talks and secure his long-term future in Dallas.
