The Detroit Lions are gearing up for their most important game of the season against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday night at Ford Field, amid controversy surrounding safety Kerby Joseph.
Joseph, a standout from Illinois and rising NFL star, leads the league with nine interceptions this season and has shown consistent improvement under defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn.
On Thursday, Joseph shared a six-word response to his omission from the recently announced Pro Bowl rosters.
Joseph stated he values the All-Pro team more, calling it the “real recognition.”
“I’m not really worried about it (the Pro Bowl), you know what I’m saying,” Joseph explained. “I’m focused on the Super Bowl. I wasn’t going to go to the Pro Bowl anyway.”
With nine interceptions, including two critical ones against the 49ers on Monday night, Joseph is two ahead of the NFL’s second-place interception leader, Xavier McKinney of the Green Bay Packers.
Detroit enters the final game of the regular season as a 2.5-point favorite against Sam Darnold and the Vikings. The matchup will decide the NFC North champion on “Sunday Night Football.”
