The New York Giants are predicted to make a “big swing” at quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft after becoming the first team officially eliminated from playoff contention this season.

Their elimination followed a disappointing 27-20 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving.

The defeat marked their seventh consecutive loss, highlighting ongoing offensive struggles. The Giants managed just 247 total yards and converted only 3-of-12 third-down attempts. Quarterback Drew Lock failed to throw a touchdown and turned the ball over twice.

With the 2025 offseason looming, the Giants are poised to be major players in the quarterback market. Analysts expect them to use the upcoming draft to target a potential franchise quarterback.

Brad Gagnon of Bleacher Report predicted the Giants would take a bold step in the draft, possibly selecting Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders.

“The highest ceiling belongs to Sanders, and the Giants must know it’s time to take a big swing,” Gagnon wrote.

Selecting Sanders, a standout from Colorado, is likely to be a popular prediction throughout the offseason. Other top quarterback prospects include Miami’s Cam Ward, Alabama’s Jalen Milroe, and Georgia’s Carson Beck.

Whether the team’s current leadership—head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen—will oversee the next era remains uncertain. However, the Giants are expected to be active in their pursuit of a new quarterback.

In 11 games this season, Sanders has posted impressive numbers, completing 73.4% of his passes for 3,488 yards, 30 touchdowns, and seven interceptions.
