Are the 49ers back? It certainly seems that way.

After a month without a win, they wondered if they were a dominant team that started the season with five straight wins, or a team that was struggling with three straight losses.

The Niners looked refreshed and back to favorite status Sunday. Historically, the Niners have had better second-half records under coach Kyle Shanahan (32-20 in November, December, and January), which is important considering the upcoming season.


San Francisco’s next four games (against Tampa Bay, Seattle, Philadelphia, and Seattle) will determine the NFC West and the playoffs.
