The list of potential replacements for Dan Quinn, the Cowboys’ coach, now includes a coach from the AFC East.

The Cowboys have added the AFC East coach to their list of potential replacements for Dan Quinn.

The Dallas Cowboys had a good 2023-24 season. But the team is hungry for better results in the postseason.

Former defensive coordinator Dan Quinn left the team after the playoffs. So the Cowboys are in contact with AFC East New York Jets assistant coach Marquand Manuel.

The search for a new DC in Dallas continues to intensify following Dan Quinn’s departure. The Cowboys have scheduled an interview with Jets safeties coach Marquand Manuel for Thursday, according to Todd Archer.

Manuel could bring valuable experience to the Dallas defense. He was a defensive end for the Atlanta Falcons during the 2017-18 season.

He also worked as an assistant for the Seattle Seahawks, Philadelphia Eagles, and New York Jets. The Cowboys are in D.C.

The hope is that one of the candidates can help strengthen the roster after a disappointing postseason finish.

Dallas suffered a surprising 49-32 loss to the Green Bay Packers. Third-year quarterback Jordan Love wreaked havoc on the team, passing for 272 yards and three touchdowns.

Additionally, Dallas could not stop the Packers’ ground game. Aaron Jones rushed for 118 yards and three touchdowns on 21 carries.

A loss for the Cowboys in the first round of the playoffs would be a huge blow to their 2024-25 season.

But this does not define them. The team decided to retain head coach Mike McCarthy despite constant criticism from analysts and fans.

Players and members of the organization praised McCarthy’s leadership and his influence on the team culture.

Dallas will need to build on a strong foundation next season if they want to achieve greater success.
With the offseason in full swing, it will be interesting to see who the Cowboys select as their next strategic defensive leader.
