The top 6 49ers return for the divisional

Can we expect every player to be 100% effective during all free time?

The 49ers will face the Green Bay Packers at Levi’s Stadium on Saturday night following their bye week.

The bye week couldn’t have come at a better time for the Niners. In addition to avoiding travel, the team will return key players for the division game and beyond.

We rank the key players who will return for Saturday’s game.

Christian McCaffrey

McCaffrey probably could have played if the 49ers had anything on the line in the season finale.

Regardless, it’s great to have the Offensive Player of the Year back and be as rested as possible.

Facing a Green Bay defense that can run the floor is the perfect mix of success for McCaffrey and the 49ers.

Arik Armstead

Armstead’s return is a welcome sight. The defensive line starts with Chase Young, Arik Armstead, Javon Hargrave and Nick Bosa.

This line will be ready for action after the extra break, and Armstead’s presence will arrive in time for the course.

The run defense gets a boost with the return of Armstead.

Ji’Ayir Brown

The return and departure of the rookie strengthens this defense.

Brown played in some rookie moments, but this defense is better with him in the lineup.

The 49ers’ next potential opponent includes impressive receivers from Tampa Bay and Detroit. Brown will be needed to slow down these groups.

Tashaun Gipson Sr.

Gipson is as strong as it gets when it comes to security. His return brings stability to the defense. The 49ers’ goal is to limit explosive plays and play with discipline. Gipson is what the doctor ordered for a team heading to the Super Bowl.

Amber Thomas

The biggest change of the bye week for the 49ers and Steve Wilks was moving Ambry Thomas to the lineup from outfield and moving Deommodore Lenoir to the slot.

Thomas rewarded the faith of the 49ers and Wilks with a great play. As the 49ers move forward, Thomas will play an important role in the 49ers game plan.

John Jennings

Say what you want, but the 49ers lack Jennings’ presence on third down and blocking in the running game.

Ronnie Bell will be a good player, but Brock Brock Purdy misses his third target who refuses to go down on first contact. Jennings’ return is a huge boost for an offense with stars at every position.
