Shocking: Skip Bayless, highly displeased with the new contract signed by Dak Prescott.

Following the resolution of CeeDee Lamb’s extension, the Dallas Cowboys turned their attention to Prescott’s contract situation. Although Prescott, like Lamb, was due for a significant payout, the team initially hesitated to meet the market rate for quarterbacks.

Eventually, the Cowboys signed Prescott to a four-year, $240 million deal, securing him with the organization for the foreseeable future. The guaranteed money in the contract makes him the highest-paid player in NFL history, despite his limited playoff success.

Fans, including Bayless, have expressed frustration over the terms of the deal. On his X account, Bayless shared his displeasure, stating, “Jerry Jones just made a QB who has struggled in 3 straight playoff losses and is 2-5 in playoff games the highest-paid player in NFL history. This is why Jerry’s Cowboys haven’t made it to an NFC Championship game in nearly 30 years. Now I’m stuck with Dak.”

Bayless’s criticism highlights valid concerns, as Prescott has yet to lead the Cowboys to a Super Bowl victory. With no viable alternatives, the team is counting on Prescott to meet his contractual obligations. He will have a chance to prove himself in Week 1 against the Cleveland Browns, but it will be a tough test.
