Truex, who was putting together another disappointing run in a season that claimed them, was disappointed at the end of the race and was unappreciated. “It’s crazy how all these people come down to this,” Theroux said. I don’t really understand how guys can think they are the best in the world when they all run from start to finish in these races. It’s sad, but that’s the way it is these days, so I’m out of here.”

The frustration continues for Truex, who finished 20th at Watkins Glen. He got on early and won the first stage, but faded during the race. Already in danger of missing out on Round 12 at Watkins Glen, Truex is now 14 points from the finish line heading into Bristol next Saturday.
That allowed him to win, something he hadn’t done in his last full-time appearance in the Cup Series.
Truex’s numbers are truly terrifying, unlike anything we’ve seen from him during his time with Joe Gibbs Racing.
Not only is he winless in 28 races, he has just one top-10 finish since Nashville in late June and has yet to finish in the top 5 since Kansas in early May. He has finished 20th or worse in 11 of the past 14 races.
This season includes seven consecutive finishes outside the top 20. We’ll see if he can pull off something special at Bristol, a track he hasn’t won during his Hall of Fame career. However, he finished second to Denny Hamlin in the spring race at Bristol.
