The Lions are eager to hit the road for the first time this season. After starting the year with two home games at Ford Field, Sunday’s game offers them the chance to prove themselves away from home.
Standing in their path are the up-and-coming Cardinals, fresh off an impressive victory over the Los Angeles Rams. Kyler Murray, with his mobility and a strong supporting cast led by rookie standout Marvin Harrison Jr., presents a tough challenge.
I expect the Cardinals to make some big plays, but the Lions’ defense has shown its ability to limit the damage. With a powerful defensive line, Detroit has the potential to dominate in the trenches on both sides of the ball.
Offensively, I’m anticipating an improvement from the Lions. After facing some criticism in the past two weeks, the team is primed for a better showing. Detroit hasn’t lost consecutive games since 2022, and with their dominance in the trenches, they should be able to prevail in their first road test.
Prediction: Lions 35, Cardinals 23

The Lions face a significant challenge on Sunday, going up against Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals’ high-powered offense.
Murray is the quintessential dual-threat quarterback, capable of making plays with both his arm and legs. He could cause problems for Aaron Glenn’s defense, which has struggled to contain mobile quarterbacks.
Cardinals running back James Conner, a 1,000-yard rusher last season, and receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., who racked up 130 yards and two touchdowns in their last game, will also be threats.
I’m predicting Jared Goff will bounce back, and the Lions will avoid their first back-to-back losses since 2022.
Prediction: Lions 31, Cardinals 23

After an ugly loss to the Buccaneers last weekend, the Detroit Lions need to regain their form. This Sunday offers the opportunity to do that against the Arizona Cardinals on the road.
First and foremost, Goff and the offense must perform better than they did last week. For a team with high expectations, another performance like that won’t cut it.
Detroit’s key to victory will be leaning on their run game, utilizing Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery to establish control. On defense, the priority will be containing rookie wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr.
It will be a close game, but if the Lions execute their game plan, they should be able to bounce back and improve to 2-1.
Prediction: Lions 24, Cardinals 21

The Lions will be eager to put their disappointing performance against the Buccaneers behind them as they face the Arizona Cardinals.
Kyler Murray and Marvin Harrison Jr. had standout performances in a blowout win over the Rams, presenting a challenge for Detroit’s defense. But offensively, the Lions should bounce back by spreading the ball and running more effectively behind their offensive line.
Expect another nail-biter in the fourth quarter, but Detroit should edge out a win to secure their second victory of the season.
Prediction: Lions 27, Cardinals 24
