Now in Seattle Seattle can’t find Montgomery anywhere on first down, but Goff takes a long time and finds Tim Patrick as he’s out for 23 yards and another first down and goal. Montgomery tried to run to first out but got nowhere and was thrown out for nothing. Now in the second, he threw St. about depression??? Yes, Goff outran a Seattle defender and caught a perfect ball from St. Louis. Bates gets the extra point after the highlight of the night this season. (6:57)
Due to an interference call, the Seahawks responded with a touchdown to open the third quarter. (Beginning of the third quarter) Back at halftime. The Lions won the game, but started the game with the ball, meaning Seattle started the second half with a possession. Dee Williams caught the kick in the end zone and returned it to his own 25.
This time, the Seahawks gave Walker a first down for six yards, then a second down for a loss as Joseph made tackle after tackle at the line of scrimmage. On third-and-5 Smith finds Smith-Njigba on the throw, but the receiver gives up a yard for a fourth down. Seattle followed him, with Smith going first at QB.
Walker gets a chance for two yards, then Smith throws a bad pass to Metcalfe that is nearly intercepted by Davis, and it’s third and 8. The Lions give up five rushes to Smith, but he had enough time to find Metcalfe for 10 yards. it’s first down. The Seahawks returned to punting, as Walker caught a short pass down the sideline for six yards.
Now it’s second down and Smith finds Fant for 16 yards and another down. Seahawks now at the Lions 30 as Smith tries to go deep for Metcalf, but Davis is flagged for pass interference. Davis was upset about the flag, but the call was correct, as he had a first down at the Detroit 9, when Smith hit former Wolverine AJ Barner for the touchdown. The Seahawks cut to the deficit after getting the extra point on a dramatic drive. (9:46)
