Dallas Cowboys DB Jourdan Lewis’ Harsh 3-Word DM Revealed by Lions Star WR

Sunday was tough for everyone connected to the Cowboys, but especially for defensive back Jourdan Lewis. Not only did he witness Lions quarterback Jared Goff throw for 315 yards and three touchdowns in Detroit’s 47-9 demolition of Dallas, but he also had to watch his rival, receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, make four catches, including one for a touchdown.

Lewis and St. Brown clashed last year during Dallas’ controversial win over the Lions, when a disputed penalty nullified a 2-point conversion that could have changed the game.

Over the summer, St. Brown discussed the incident on “The Pivot Podcast,” revealing that Lewis had been particularly vocal with trash talk during their encounter.

“He was talking crazy, like stuff I’d never heard before,” St. Brown said. Last week, when asked about it, Lewis claimed he didn’t recall the exchange.

On Monday, a day after the Lions’ blowout victory, St. Brown shared a screenshot of a direct message from Lewis that simply read, “You a b****.”

Jourdan Lewis: ‘Sometimes I Just Black Out’

It’s clear there’s bad blood between the two. On the podcast, St. Brown described Lewis as his “least favorite” defensive back, saying:

“He was talking crazy, out of pocket,” St. Brown said, according to Bleacher Report. “Even [Lions wideout Jameson Williams] heard it. At that point, I wasn’t focused on him, just trying to make plays and win the game. But once he started talking like that, I thought, ‘If I get the chance, I’m going to kill him.’”

When asked about St. Brown’s comments ahead of Week 6, Lewis responded, “Sometimes I just black out and go somewhere else with it,” as reported by the Dallas Morning News. “If I said something disrespectful, I’d probably say it again.”

He added: “I just remember him going on a podcast trying to call me out. We’ll play each other again, and we’ll see what’s real and what’s not.”

Cowboys’ Inconsistent Season Takes Another Twist

For both Lewis and the Cowboys, figuring out what’s real and what’s not has been a season-long struggle. The Cowboys have looked strong in three games, beating the Browns and Giants, and securing an impressive win over the Steelers in Pittsburgh.

But against the league’s top teams—like the Saints, Ravens, and now the Lions—the Cowboys have been outclassed.

They did manage a rally against Baltimore, closing the gap after trailing 28-6 in the fourth quarter with 19 straight points, but they still fell short. They were also soundly beaten, 44-19, by New Orleans.

Heading into their bye week, the Cowboys have problems across the board. The running game lacks depth, Dak Prescott hasn’t been his usual self, the offensive line is still developing with two rookies, and the defense, while injury-ridden, hasn’t performed well even when healthy.

It was a bad day for Lewis, but it was a bad day for Dallas as a whole.
