NFL Bold Predictions for Week 13: Lions vs. Bears

The Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears head into their Week 13 Thanksgiving matchup at Ford Field trending in opposite directions.

The Lions are the hottest team in the league, sharing the NFL’s best record with the Kansas City Chiefs. Detroit secured its ninth consecutive victory in Week 12, defeating the Indianapolis Colts 24-6. With this momentum, the Lions remain atop the NFC North standings.

The Bears, meanwhile, are spiraling. After a 3-2 start, Chicago has dropped five consecutive games, including tough losses to the Green Bay Packers and the Minnesota Vikings over the past two weeks. They now sit in last place in the NFC North, with another playoff miss likely on the horizon.

This will mark the 20th Thanksgiving meeting between the Lions and Bears. Historically, Chicago leads the holiday series 11-8 and has won the last three matchups. Detroit’s last Thanksgiving win against the Bears came in 2014.

Can Chicago keep its Thanksgiving streak alive, or will Detroit continue its dominance? Let’s see what the experts predict.

NFL Picks, Predictions Week 13: Lions vs. Bears

ESPN Predictions:

Matt Bowen: Lions

Mike Clay: Lions

Dan Graziano: Bears

Eric Moody: Lions

Seth Wickersham: Lions

CBS Sports: Pete Prisco

Prediction: Lions 30, Bears 27

Analysis: “The Bears have lost four straight, while the Lions are surging at the top of the NFC. Playing in Detroit on Thanksgiving is no easy task, especially with the Lions rolling. Caleb Williams impressed last week and should keep it close here, but the Lions take a tight win.”

Sporting News: Vinnie Iyer

Prediction: Lions 34, Bears 13

Analysis: “The Lions are relentless, and they’ll remember their Thanksgiving loss to the Packers last year. The Bears, meanwhile, are reeling after an overtime loss to the Vikings. Chicago’s defense is crumbling, while Detroit’s defense continues to excel. Expect no mercy from the home team this holiday.”

Sporting News: Bill Bender

Prediction: Lions 34, Bears 21

Analysis: “The Lions thrive as double-digit favorites, scoring 52 points across their last two games in such situations. While Caleb Williams is finding rhythm under new offensive coordinator Thomas Brown, Detroit is simply the better, more polished team. This could get ugly, but the Bears might hang around for a late cover.”

Arizona Republic: Jeremy Cluff

Prediction: Lions 31, Bears 17

Analysis: “The Bears’ losing streak has to end at some point, but it won’t happen on Thanksgiving. Detroit’s Jared Goff and the red-hot Lions are simply too much for Chicago to handle.”

NFL Spin Zone: Sayre Bedinger

Prediction: Lions 30, Bears 23

Analysis: “The Bears will aim to play spoiler, but the Lions can’t afford to overlook them. Chicago nearly upset the Vikings last week, so this could be closer than expected. While Detroit might not cover the 10.5-point spread, they should still come away with the win.”
