Just In: NASCAR Names Craig Stimmel Senior Vice President, Chief Commercial Officer

NASCAR announced Monday the appointment of Craig Stimmel as its new Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer. In this role, Stimmel will lead all sales initiatives for NASCAR, managing premier partner and official partner categories, race entitlements, track partnerships, and media sales for properties like the Motor Racing Network (MRN) and NASCAR Digital Media. He will also collaborate with NASCAR’s media partners, teams, and independent tracks to create commercial opportunities throughout the NASCAR ecosystem.

Stimmel brings extensive experience from the property, media, and consumer sectors, having led global sales and partnerships for WWE and held a similar position at Snapchat. Earlier in his career, he worked in brand marketing leadership at Procter & Gamble. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President of Commercial for the Las Vegas Grand Prix.

“Craig’s proven success in driving results and building billion-dollar brands within complex environments made him an ideal candidate for this role,” said Brian Herbst, NASCAR Executive Vice President and Chief Media and Revenue Officer. “NASCAR is fortunate to have some of the most brand-loyal fans and prominent sponsorships in professional sports. Craig’s expertise will help expand our partner roster and deepen fan engagement.”

“NASCAR has taken impressive strides in recent years to grow the sport, tell its brand story authentically, and build momentum for the future,” Stimmel said. “The opportunities for brands of all sizes to connect with fans and new customers make this role incredibly exciting, and I’m eager to build on the strong foundation already established.”

Stimmel officially begins his new role Monday. Based in NASCAR’s New York office, he will oversee employees across more than 20 office and race-track locations nationwide. He will report to Brian Herbst, EVP and Chief Media & Revenue Officer.
