Tim Patrick was fired up during his postgame interview following a standout performance in the Detroit Lions’ big win over the Green Bay Packers in Week 14. The victory not only secured a playoff berth for the Lions but also highlighted Patrick’s incredible comeback story.
Few NFL players have faced as much adversity as Patrick in recent years. After suffering multiple severe injuries that kept him off the field for two full seasons, Patrick was released by the Denver Broncos in August. That setback led to a fresh start with the Lions, who signed him to their practice squad.
Since then, Patrick has emerged as a dependable No. 3 option in Detroit’s receiving corps, but his Week 14 performance was his best yet. He hauled in two touchdown passes and totaled 43 receiving yards on six catches.
Patrick’s first touchdown came in the third quarter and was a crucial moment for the Lions. The score not only reclaimed the lead for Detroit but also halted Green Bay’s momentum after the Packers had put together back-to-back touchdown drives. It marked Patrick’s first trip to the end zone since the 2021 season.
In the fourth quarter, Patrick struck again. His second touchdown grab restored the Lions’ lead following another Packers scoring drive. Detroit ultimately sealed the victory with a clutch game-winning field goal from kicker Jake Bates.
Following the game, Patrick spoke with Prime Video’s Kaylee Hartung in a postgame interview, where his enthusiasm and joy were unmistakable.
With his six-catch, 43-yard performance, Patrick now has 27 receptions for 349 yards on the season. He has been everything the Lions hoped for when they brought him on board.
Now, with their playoff spot secured, Detroit shifts focus to clinching the division title. They’ll enjoy some extra rest before their Week 15 showdown against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, Dec. 15.
