Kyle Busch and his fans won’t deny that 2024 was a struggle and one of the worst seasons in his NASCAR Cup Series career. He failed to win a single race during the season for the first time in 20 years and finished 20th in the final points standings — equal to his worst finish during his rookie year in 2005.
Since the checkered flag fell in Phoenix, the Richard Childress Racing driver has gladly moved on to the offseason and other things, including spending lots of time with his family as he has displayed on his social media accounts.
The 39-year-old shared photos on X from the visit to his hometown of Las Vegas in late November, where he took in a Raiders game with his wife Samantha and son as well as the F1 race with wife and friends.
Interestingly, during this same time, Samantha has not posted to X. Her last original activity was on Sept. 22 when she didn’t sugarcoat what she thought about the Gen 7 car.
“Not just saying this bc we didn’t run well but can we all agree the only exciting part of the race was watching Owen celebrate w Kyle (Larson),” she wrote. “Can’t remember a Bristol race being that blah in long time. Time to cancel this race car.”
On Saturday, the 38-year-old returned to X with a post and video that got the attention of the fans.
“Have not been on here in forever so thought I would start it off again with this,” Busch wrote. “who can relate??”
The video title is “Husband vs. Wife – Bedtime Thoughts” and begins with the couple giving a goodnight kiss in bed. After each lies down and faces the opposite direction, the camera initially focuses on a pensive-looking Samantha, who has the following thoughts quickly running through her mind in succession: “Did I turn off the oven? Did I lock all the doors? Is Brexton’s fire suit packed? What’s the weather for tomorrow? Crap I forgot to make that appointment.”
Moments later, the camera shifts to the other side of the bed and the two-time champion lying down with a single thought: “Should I show it to her?”
He lifts up the covers, looks down toward his feet, puts the covers down, smiles, and looks over his shoulder toward his wife before the video ends.
Kyle Busch is having a fun offseason.
