Wings Acquire Carrington, Harris, Smith, Draft Picks, and Reserved Rights of Herbert Harrigan
The Dallas Wings have finalized a major four-team trade with the Connecticut Sun, Phoenix Mercury, and Indiana Fever. As part of the deal, the Wings acquire DiJonai Carrington, Tyasha Harris, NaLyssa Smith, the reserved rights of Mikiah Herbert Harrigan, the No. 12 pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft, and future pick swaps.
Heading to Phoenix are Satou Sabally, Kalani Brown, and Sevgi Uzun, while Jacy Sheldon moves to Connecticut.
Key Departures from Dallas
Satou Sabally → Phoenix Mercury
Sabally, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2020 WNBA Draft, departs Dallas as a two-time WNBA All-Star (2021, 2023) and a 2023 All-WNBA First Team selection. In her 97 games with the Wings, the 6-4 forward averaged 15.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.1 steals per contest. Despite being limited to 15 games in 2024, she put up impressive numbers: 17.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game. Sabally was also a WNBA All-Rookie Team selection in 2020 and currently plays for Phantom in Unrivaled, where she’s averaging 16.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 2.4 assists.
Kalani Brown → Phoenix Mercury
Brown wraps up her second season with Dallas after averaging 5.7 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.1 assists over 39 games in 2024. The 6-7 center was drafted seventh overall by the Los Angeles Sparks in 2019, later playing for the Atlanta Dream before joining the Wings. A Baylor alum and 2019 NCAA champion, Brown is currently playing in China for Inner Mongolia Nongxin, where she’s putting up 20.3 points and 8.2 rebounds per game.
Sevgi Uzun → Phoenix Mercury
The Turkish guard made an impact as a rookie in 2024, playing all 40 games and starting 19. She averaged 4.4 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game. Uzun is currently playing for Fenerbahce in Turkey, where she’s averaging 10.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 5.2 assists.
Jacy Sheldon → Connecticut Sun
Sheldon was one of just two Wings to appear in all 40 games in 2024, making 26 starts as a rookie. She averaged 5.4 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game, while leading all WNBA rookies in free-throw percentage (.926). The former Ohio State standout was selected fifth overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft. Sheldon, an All-American who scored over 2,000 points for the Buckeyes, is currently serving as Director of Player Development at Ohio State.
Jaelyn Brown → Indiana Fever
Brown earned her spot on the Wings roster through training camp in 2024, appearing in 14 games as a rookie. She averaged 2.6 points and 1.5 rebounds per game while shooting 48.4% from the field and 50.0% from three. The 6-1 guard/forward, a 2020 California-Berkeley graduate, is currently playing for Dynamo Kursk in Russia, where she’s averaging 7.4 points and 6.0 rebounds over 16 games.
