Cowboys Star Reacts to Shocking Dallas Mavericks Blockbuster Trade

Feb 3, 2025 #Micah Parsons

The sports world is unpredictable, with blockbuster trades often shaking up fan bases. That was exactly the case on Saturday, February 1, when the Dallas Mavericks reportedly pulled off one of the most stunning trades in NBA history.

The deal sent Luka Dončić, Maxi Kleber, and Markieff Morris to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Anthony Davis, Max Christie, and a 2029 first-round pick. The Utah Jazz were also involved in the trade.

NBA analysts and experts have plenty to say about the move, but even NFL players are weighing in. One of them is Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons, who had the perfect reaction to the shocking trade.

Cowboys’ Micah Parsons Shares Thoughts on Luka Dončić Trade

Shortly after the trade was announced, Parsons took to X to express his reaction.

“Yoo wtf going on in Dallas?” he posted.

It was a short but powerful statement that summed up what many fans were thinking.

The Mavericks’ decision to trade Dončić is puzzling for multiple reasons, particularly since they didn’t receive an equivalent return. Giving up one of the NBA’s top offensive players—especially at the height of his career—left many questioning the move.

Former Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant also didn’t hold back his thoughts, posting on X:

“Idk what to say about Dallas… I’m getting ready to move.. WTF.”

Mavericks Trade Could Benefit the Cowboys

While the trade has left Mavericks fans in disbelief, there may be an unexpected upside for the Cowboys. As Randy Gurzi of Sports Illustrated pointed out on February 1, the backlash from the Mavericks’ move has shifted some of the criticism away from the Cowboys.

Gurzi compared the trade to the Cowboys’ decision to send Amari Cooper to the Cleveland Browns for a fifth-round pick, noting how baffling both moves were.

“Harrison claims the move was made to help win a title, saying defense wins championships. That’s hard to agree with when a 25-year-old Dončić is being replaced with a 31-year-old Davis,” Gurzi wrote. “There’s simply no way to make this move seem logical, which is why the Jones family is suddenly not the most hated in the Dallas area.”

RJ Ochoa of Blogging the Boys shared a similar sentiment in a February 2 article, joking that the Mavericks have taken the negative spotlight away from the Cowboys.

“It has been a very tough few weeks, months, and year at large for the Cowboys, as previously noted,” Ochoa stated. “Jerry Jones and Stephen Jones should send Nico Harrison and the Mavericks an edible arrangement for taking the heat off of them, particularly in the run-up to Super Bowl week where the Schottenheimer hire will be discussed all over the place.”

So, while Mavericks fans are left reeling, Cowboys fans can take solace in one thing—things could be worse.
