Detroit Lions bring back WR Tim Patrick for the 2025 season after his impactful role in 2024

Lions Re-Sign WR Tim Patrick

The Detroit Lions are bringing back wide receiver Tim Patrick for the 2025 season after his impactful role in 2024.

Patrick has agreed to a one-year contract worth up to $4 million, keeping him in Detroit for another season.

Originally signed to the Lions’ practice squad following his release from the Denver Broncos at the end of training camp, Patrick was elevated to the active roster in Week 2. He later secured a full-time spot on the 53-man roster.

Serving as the team’s third wide receiver behind Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams, Patrick contributed with 33 receptions for 394 yards and three touchdowns in 16 games. One of his standout performances included a two-touchdown effort against the Green Bay Packers on Thursday Night Football at Ford Field.

Patrick’s return to the field last season was a major comeback story after missing the 2022 and 2023 seasons due to serious injuries. His first appearance with the Lions marked his first NFL game in over two years.

Over his seven-year career, Patrick has totaled 176 receptions for 2,403 yards and 15 touchdowns. He entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of Utah.

With his return, Patrick will continue to be a key piece in a receiving corps led by two-time First-Team All-Pro Amon-Ra St. Brown, who has posted three consecutive 1,000-yard seasons. Jameson Williams also eclipsed 1,000 receiving yards for the first time in his career last season.
