The Ohio State Buckeyes wrapped up their spring practice schedule with Saturday’s spring game, which also served as an important event for recruiting several top prospects.
That was especially true for five-star linebacker Tyler Atkinson, who was among the notable recruits in attendance.
Atkinson is weighing interest from five other schools, but following his visit, he made it clear that his connection with Ohio State remains strong.
“I still feel really good about OSU,” Atkinson said in an interview with On3’s Steve Wiltfong.
“It was awesome to see the fans show so much support at the spring game. I even heard ‘AtkNup’ a few times from the crowd — that was pretty dope! I had a great time with Coach Patricia, and Coach Laurinaitis and I are building a really strong relationship.”
According to Wiltfong, Atkinson is also considering Georgia, Clemson, Auburn, Oregon, and USC. Still, Ohio State continues to be among the top contenders to land his commitment.
That momentum doesn’t appear to be slowing down after his recent visit to Columbus. The 247Sports Composite ranks Atkinson as the No. 1 linebacker and the top prospect in Georgia for the 2026 class. He’s also listed as the No. 7 overall recruit nationally.
At 6-foot-2 and 210 pounds, Atkinson is set to finish his high school career at Grayson High School in Loganville, Georgia.
