Former Phoenix Mercury assistant GM and two-time WNBA champion takes on historic role

Monica Wright Rogers has been hired as the first general manager of the WNBA’s Toronto Tempo, according to multiple reports.
The expansion team is set to begin play in 2026.
Both The Athletic and ESPN have confirmed the hiring as official.
Wright Rogers, a two-time WNBA champion, spent seven seasons in the league as a player.
She most recently served as an assistant GM with the Phoenix Mercury.
