Aliyah Boston, born on December 11, 2001, in Saint Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, is a professional basketball player currently with the Indiana Fever in the WNBA. She began playing basketball at age nine, inspired by her older sister, Alexis. At 12, Aliyah and Alexis moved to Massachusetts to live with their aunt, aiming for better basketball opportunities.
Boston attended Worcester Academy, where she was a standout player, earning Gatorade Massachusetts Player of the Year honors three times and leading her team to consecutive NEPSAC Class A championships. She was also a McDonald’s All-American in 2019.
She played college basketball at the University of South Carolina from 2019 to 2023, leading the team to an NCAA championship in 2022 and earning numerous accolades, including National Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year. Boston declared for the WNBA Draft in April 2023 and was selected first overall by the Indiana Fever.
In her rookie season, she was unanimously named WNBA Rookie of the Year and selected as an All-Star. She continued her strong performance into the 2024 season, earning a second All-Star selection.
