BATON ROUGE – LSU will host a WNBA preseason game featuring the Chicago Sky and the Brazil National Team on May 2 at 7 p.m. CT in the PMAC, marking the return of Angel Reese to Baton Rouge. Ticket information will be available later on LSUtix.net.
“We are thrilled to welcome the WNBA to LSU with a game featuring Chicago Sky and Angel Reese,” said Coach Kim Mulkey. “Angel played a key role in building our program, and I know our fans will be excited to see her back in the PMAC. She had an outstanding rookie season, and we look forward to watching her continue to excel in the WNBA.”
Reese expressed her excitement about the game, saying, “I’m so excited that the Sky will play a preseason game at LSU. Baton Rouge means so much to me, and it will be amazing to play in front of this community again. LSU prepared me for the WNBA, and I can’t wait to take the court in front of Tigers and Sky fans!”
Reese made history at LSU, leading the Tigers to their first NCAA Championship in 2023. She set an NCAA record with 34 double-doubles during the title-winning season and was named the Most Outstanding Player of the NCAA Tournament. In her junior season, she averaged 23.0 points, 15.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.8 steals, and 1.6 blocks per game.
A decorated player, Reese was named SEC Player of the Year (2024), a three-time AP All-American (2022-24), a two-time First Team All-SEC selection (2023-24), a two-time SEC All-Defense honoree (2023-24), and a 2024 Wooden Award All-American Team member.
In 2024, she led the SEC in scoring (18.6 points per game) and rebounds (13.4 per game) for the second consecutive season—becoming the first player to do so since Wendy Scholtens (Vanderbilt, 1989-90). Reese finished her LSU career with the third-most points in a single season (829 in 2023) and set the program record for career rebounds per game (14.4).
