Important update on Matthew Stafford’s injuries from Rams coach Sean McVay

Matthew Stafford, the quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams, is a tough guy. If someone has ever questioned this, they are not someone with whom to begin with. Stafford has been something of a made man in that regard ever since he bravely played through bumps and bruises and consistently ducked the toughest hits and most excruciating smashes on his right hand during his debut season with the Detroit Lions. However, Stafford has every right to use the preseason to heal from any nagging injuries after 15 seasons in the NFL.

Although it may not seem like the most serious or incapacitating injury in the world, the Rams quarterback is currently experiencing hamstring tightness. A poor hammy may stop even the toughest sons-a-guns from playing. As expected, Matthew Stafford did not play in the second half of the Dallas Cowboys’ joint practice earlier this week. On Saturday, the Los Angeles Rams defeated the Los Angeles Chargers 13-9, and Matthew Stafford was not on the field at all. This made it possible for former Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Stetson Bennett to start every preseason snap as quarterback for the second straight game. Bennett won a title with the team.

Speaking to the media on Sunday, Rams coach Sean McVay stated that he is not worried about Matthew Stafford’s injury preventing him from playing when the regular season kicks off.

According to Stu Jackson of therams.com, Sean McVay stated, “I am not concerned based on what I understand the tightness is, and erring on the safe side of caution for this week if that is what we end up having to do.” “He is going to be prepared and ready to play against Detroit.” And he will still have two and a half weeks to get ready for Detroit even if we lose a few days this week, if that is the precautionary measure we take.

Regarding the “safer side,” the Rams offensive line has already experienced a number of injuries since the start of training camp, which does not help. For the remainder of the preseason, left guard Jonah Jackson, left tackle Alaric Jackson, and right tackle Rob Havenstein are most likely out.
