The media has done an excellent job of documenting and covering the Dallas Cowboys’ offseason of, well, pretty much nothing. After declaring that he was going “all-in” this year, Jerry Jones’ supporters are aware of what happened next.

Dallas remains a question mark. This close to the regular season, there are still some gaps that need to be filled. Additionally, the Cowboys have apparently started experimenting with standout pass rusher Micah Parsons, according to NFL Network’s Jane Slater, who covers the team.

Slater stunned Cowboys country with the following remarks during a recent appearance on NFL Daily, a podcast produced by NFL Network’s Gregg Rosenthal:

Even Micah Parsons, a running back, has finally received some snaps. Slater informed Rosenthal, “He is been hammering the table for that for years.”

The host’s response was universal: Rosenthal questioned why the Cowboys are even wasting their time since he was unable to process Slater’s intelligence. Slater did, however, go into further into about what she thinks the Cowboys will do with Parsons in this capacity should they decide to employ him offensively during the regular season:

It is more like goal line situations, in my opinion. I believe they utilize him as a full-back. Micah enjoys eating a lot. I am certain he wants it.

This is just plain foolishness, regardless of the position—full back, running back, or any other—instead of hurrying the passer.

To take unnecessary risks with Micah Parsons, cowboys are thinking about it.

Let us face it, this player is among the best defensive players in the game right now. Above all, Parsons has shown himself to be the most proficient rusher of the quarterback. The Cowboys have recently given him additional reps at off-ball linebacker, and to be honest, this is the result of two major errors on Jerry Jones’ part.

It is possible that the Cowboys are concerned about stopping the run, but if so, Jones and company ought to have gone out and dealt with that matter individually. It should not be an option to take one of the top pass rushers in the league and try to shore up a separate weak point. Parsons has no business helping to mend a hole that he should not be in the vicinity of.

Please take aware that Parsons is not your typical cat. He may have occasionally pestered coaches to use him at running back, but that is the extent of his experimentation. Parsons in the backfield on offense is not the place or the risk to take in any scenario.

Parsons ought to be aware enough not to be making such ridiculous demands as a rookie hoping to land a large contract at the end of the season.

However, it also highlights the Cowboys’ lack of activity during the summer. Concerned about putting an end to the run

With Parsons back at linebacker, the coaching staff gives it a shot. As if that were the answer we have all been waiting for, the Cowboys decided to reunite with Ezekiel Elliott because they were also concerned about the back field.

The Cowboys are worried about a few things, but Parsons is not the solution for either. These absurd ideas must end, and Mike McCarthy must allow his finest defensive player to rush the passer. That is how easy it is.
