Two Alabama alumnus are injured by the Detroit Lions during one practice.

Running back Jahmyr Gibbs and cornerback Terrion Arnold left the field during training camp on Monday night due to injuries, but Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell said the players are “going to be fine.”

In the first round of the NFL Draft, the Lions selected two players from Alabama in quick succession: Gibbs, who was selected with the 12th pick in 2023, and Arnold, who was selected with the 24th pick in 2024.

During the preseason, NFL teams are not required to provide injury information. According to reports, Arnold had a pectoral injury and Gibbs a hamstring ailment.

Immediately, two days ago, Campbell stated, “My phone is blowing up,” during an interview on Detroit is WXYT-FM program “Costa and Jansen with Heather” on Wednesday. “I am getting so many messages saying, ‘Dude, look what happened to Gibbs!’” TA, oh my god! It is finished. These reports are all available. And I reply, “All right.” Anyway, I believe that everything will work out here, okay? I believe we will be alright.

After leading Detroit to its first NFC Championship Game since 1991, Gibbs ran for 945 yards and 10 touchdowns on 182 rushes as a rookie and caught 52 catches for 316 yards and one touchdown in 15 regular-season games. Gibbs was selected to the Pro Bowl.

In Detroit is 14-3 loss to the New York Giants on Thursday night, Arnold started in place of Gibbs, who did not play in the Lions’ preseason opener. Arnold played the first three drives for the New York offense, but on 13 snaps, he did not log any numbers.
