Arsenal are poised to lose striker Eddie Nketiah to Premier League rivals Nottingham Forest this summer. The Gunners have been active in refreshing their squad, both bringing in new talent and offloading players who no longer fit into manager Mikel Arteta’s plans.

The most recent departure from the club was midfielder Charlie Patino, who was sold to Spanish Segunda Division side Deportivo La Coruña. Nketiah, however, could be the next to leave, as he finds himself further down the pecking order and seeks more playing time.

Negotiations are underway between Arsenal and Nottingham Forest for the young striker. According to journalist Ben Jacobs, who spoke exclusively to GiveMeSport, Forest have shifted their focus from Santiago Gimenez to Nketiah, with advanced talks now in progress. Jacobs noted that all parties are optimistic about finalizing the deal, with Nketiah willing to make the move.

Jacobs explained, “Nottingham Forest have moved on from Santiago Gimenez to Eddie Nketiah, and advanced talks are taking place with Arsenal regarding the fee. Both sides are hopeful and eager to complete the transfer, with Nketiah ready to join Forest. The main issue is the financial package. While Marseille did not meet the €30 million asking price, Nottingham Forest’s offer of £30 million is in line with typical intra-Premier League transfer costs.”

Nketiah has been a valuable backup option at Arsenal, delivering impressive performances off the bench despite limited starting opportunities. Arteta and the Arsenal management are expected to be content with securing £30 million for a player who currently sits behind Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus, and Leandro Trossard in the attacking lineup.
