Tyler Lockett is expected to play in the season opener.

Tyler Lockett has been sidelined for more than two weeks with a foot injury, but the Seahawks wide receiver insists he will play in Sunday’s season opener. “If you don’t know something, you don’t,” Rocket said. Lockett, who wore a bandage around his left knee on Monday, did not play in a preseason game and won’t be concerned about limited training camp appearances in the new offense. He called his absence a precaution. “These were things that I needed to work on and deal with and they didn’t want me to go out there and make things worse or risk not being able to play for the season,” Lockett said. Lockett, in his 10th season, is one of six players with at least 10 seasons of experience. He will be part of a wide receiver group that includes DK Metcalf, Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Jake Bobo, giving new offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb plenty of options. “I think having a new offensive coordinator every three years has allowed me to look at the game differently, play it a different way and learn the skills to be able to go out and try to do something, so I think it’s very” That’s interesting.” Rocket said. Last season was the first time the Rockets fell short of 1,000 receiving yards since 2018. He finished with 894 yards and five touchdowns on 79 receptions.
