Aidan O’Brien threatens to dethrone his British rivals in the final British Classic of the season. The Ballydoyle master has five of his 10 horses confirmed for Saturday’s Betfred St Leger at Doncaster. His three teams finished first, second and third in the 1m6f Group 1 race and the fourth horse on the list, Godolphin’s Ancient Wisdom, is unconfirmed. His trainer Charlie Appleby said: “The horse is in good condition but will focus on the autumn season taking advantage of the favorable course conditions.”Irish Oaks winner You Got To Me brought more class to the field after the filly, who finished second in the Yorkshire Oaks last time, was added for £50,000 by trainer Ralph Beckett.
