In an effort to bolster Jared Goff’s receiving options, the Detroit Lions have signed two veteran wide receivers to their practice squad.
Currently, the Lions are thin at the position, with just Isaiah Williams and Kalif Raymond on the active roster, alongside Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams.
Tom Kennedy, the team’s fifth receiver, was elevated from the practice squad for Week 1. To further strengthen the receiving corps, it is expected that Tim Patrick, Allen Robinson, or Donovan Peoples-Jones may be promoted from the practice squad soon.
Head coach Dan Campbell addressed the potential debut of Patrick, highlighting the ongoing competition among the receivers to secure a spot on the active roster. “All of those guys are competing,” Campbell noted.
“When you’re on the practice squad, you have to put in the work every day, and we’re keeping a close eye on all of them.” He added that all options remain open and decisions will be made as the situation evolves.
The question remains: Will Tim Patrick make his debut this week? Stay tuned for updates on the Lions’ roster moves.
