Dylan Lupton is making a much-anticipated return to ARCA Menards Series competition at Watkins Glen International, driving the No. 30 Ford Mustang for Rette Jones Racing.

This race marks his first appearance in the series since 2020, and it will also be his debut on an ARCA road course. Lupton has built a reputation for strong performances on road courses in other motorsport series, including the NASCAR Xfinity Series, where he previously competed at Watkins Glen.

The 41-lap General Tire 100 at Watkins Glen is set to take place on September 13, 2024. Lupton will be driving a car that was recently raced by IndyCar veteran Conor Daly, who earned a top-10 finish at Mid-Ohio. Lupton is optimistic about his chances, stating that Watkins Glen is one of his favorite tracks and expressing confidence in the team’s preparation.

Rette Jones Racing, co-owned by Mark Rette and Terry Jones, has competed in a limited ARCA schedule in 2024, but they have high hopes for Lupton’s return. Rette expressed excitement about Lupton’s potential, noting his experience and ability to compete at the front when given the right equipment. The team has also been active in the ASA STARS National Tour and the NASCAR Xfinity Series this season.

Lupton, a native of Wilton, California, last raced in ARCA at Kansas Speedway in 2020 and Daytona International Speedway in 2016.

His return to Watkins Glen is particularly significant, given his previous experience at the track in NASCAR, where he finished 20th in the 2017 Xfinity race. He aims to use this race as a stepping stone for further competition later in the year and to help propel Rette Jones Racing to a strong finish.

The race will be broadcast live on FS1, and fans can follow along on SiriusXM or via live timing on the ARCA website.
