MIAMI — The Buffalo Bills turned Ja’Marcus Ingram’s defense into an early lead against the Miami Dolphins on Thursday Night Football.After the Bills took a timeout on the play, running back Josh Allen responded with a 17-yard pass to James Cook on 4th-and-3. The Bills used a preemptive move to put receiver Curtis Samuel behind Allen, with Cook moving from left to right at fullback. Cook then ran left, left the pass wide open and raced down the sideline toward the end zone.
The play included a six-play, 37-yard drive that came after Ingram ended the Dolphins’ first drive early. Ingram is expected to play in the team’s tight end, with Cam Lewis starting at nickel cornerback for the injured Taron Johnson (ankle).
