Saints and Cowboys fans, undeterred by Hurricane Francine, are determined to travel to DFW for Sunday’s game

While Louisiana is still recovering from the storm’s aftermath, many are focusing on the much-anticipated matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints. Despite the devastation left behind, football fans are refusing to let the hurricane disrupt their plans.

Zedra Washington, whose household is divided between Cowboys and Saints loyalties, emphasized their commitment to attending the game. “There’s been a lot of trash talk. We weren’t canceling for anything,” she said, explaining why missing the game was never an option.

Washington also mentioned friends from Houma, Louisiana, who were contemplating arriving earlier to avoid the storm’s potential impact. Back home, Francine had torn off a company’s roof and left many without power.

“A lot of things were destroyed, and we still don’t have electricity. They’re saying it might be back by Monday,” Jordan Allen shared. “My brother told me sleeping without power last night was unbearable.”

Elizabeth Teagle, whose daughter is a medical student at Tulane, said their family initially worried about travel but managed to book a flight from New Orleans just in time for the weekend. Their plans include watching the Cowboys-Saints game on Sunday and attending the TCU game on Saturday.

“Unless it’s truly catastrophic or damaging, you can’t let the weather stop you. Life goes on,” Teagle reflected.

Meanwhile, the Saints made adjustments to their schedule, moving practices ahead of Francine’s landfall to allow players time with their families.

In Texas, the anticipation for the game is high. Cowboys fan Darren Franklin made it clear: “I wouldn’t cancel for anything. I love the Cowboys.” For Franklin, any concerns about the storm’s aftermath will wait until after the game.

Kickoff at AT&T Stadium is set for noon on Sunday.
