FRM increases their efforts in the NASCAR Truck Series For 2025
Front Row Motorsports plans to increase the size of their fleet in the NASCAR Truck Series. Chandler Smith will compete for FRM on a full-time basis. Last season, Smith raced full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for Joe Gibbs Racing. He has 17 top-5 finishes and two race victories.
In 2022, the 22-year-old made his final full-time Truck Series appearance with Kyle Busch Motorsports. To accompany the driver signing, Front Row Motorsports has not announced any sponsors, numbers, or staff. Smith won Rookie of the Year for the 2021 NASCAR Truck Series. He also won the Snowball Derby in that year.
Chandler Smith remarks
In a team statement, Smith said, “I’m thrilled to be joining the Front Row Motorsports truck program.” They are a strong challenger in the Truck Series, as seen by their victories and titles. I like what they are creating here, and I feel privileged to be able to contribute.
“Although we are starting a little late, I am thrilled about the quality of talent we are discussing as part of this program for 2025.” Smith has won the NASCAR Truck Series five times.
NASCAR litigation
The group is working to grow their business outside the Truck Series. Front Row Motorsports is suing NASCAR on antitrust grounds and is presently in court. Better charter terms are what they’re aiming for. Additionally, Stewart-Haas Racing has sold them a third NASCAR Cup Series charter. But that sale hasn’t been completed yet. A judge decided this week that the charter acquisition could proceed as long as the legal matter is pending. Since then, NASCAR has filed an appeal of that decision, with a hearing set for early January.
