Ace JGR In sprint car racing, Christopher Bell acknowledged that Kyle Larson has a competitive advantage over him. The Hendrick Motorsports driver, who competes in sprint car races on a regular basis, may require some touch-ups to get going in contrast to Bell. In the early 2000s, Bell started racing sprint cars.
He became well-known in the years that followed and joined Joe Gibbs Racing as a full-time NASCAR racer. But the #20 Toyota driver hasn’t participated in a sprint car race in two years. Joe Gibbs’ reluctance to allow his drivers to compete in a sport other than NASCAR is the cause. But after Chase Briscoe joined the team, that changed.
Mr. Gibbs modified his perspective and made room for his drivers now that JGR has two drivers with sprint car racing experience: Briscoe and Bell. The JGR drivers can now be seen in other disciplines by merely completing a procedure to obtain approval.
The issue of Bell’s rivalry with Kyle Larson then came up. Chili Bowl Nationals champions are both drivers. The JGR driver has three championships, compared to the HMS driver’s two. But because Larson had a two-year “head start,” Bell acknowledged that the former would have an advantage.
“He will have the advantage for a short while. I’ll need to come back up to speed and get my dirt shoes under me again because he has a two-year advantage over me. However, I’m hoping to catch up at some point. Being out of the car for so long will be the hardest thing.
I hope it’s similar like riding a bike. We’re going to find out, I suppose,” Bell stated (via NASCAR). It’s important to note that Kyle Larson will likely run in the 2025 Chili Bowl Nationals, whereas Christopher Bell is unlikely to. However, they will be seen facing off against Kyle Busch at the Tulsa Shootout in Oklahoma.
A comparison between Kyle Larson and Christopher Bell, two competitors from Tulsa Bell made his Tulsa Shootout debut in 2009, participating in the Winged A-Class division. The JGR driver won the Tulsa Shootout Winged Outlaw, his only victory to date, over ten years later in 2017.
In addition, the Oklahoma native finished second in the Winged A-Class division in both 2022 and his championship season. Kyle Larson, in contrast to Bell, is preparing for his third Chili Bowl Nationals championship. His last Tulsa victory was in the 2010 Open Outlaw Kart race, so the Californian will be looking for a second victory when he returns to the Tulsa Shootout.
Owen, Larson’s son, will compete in the Junior Sprints and Restricted A-Class. Larson revealed his ideas for High Limit Racing in Australia and the Tulsa Shootout during this off-season’s Race Industry Week. His ambiguity on his participation in the 2025 Chili Bowl, however, sparked rumors about his admission. However, the most recent information has established that Larson, Bell, and Busch will be competing in the Chili Bowl Nationals as NASCAR Cup Series drivers.
