In order to compete in NASCAR’s premier racing series, one must master the art of bump and run. Braxton Flatt, who is ten years old, appears to have learned the method as well. Dale Earnhardt Jr., a member of the NASCAR Hall of Fame, tweeted Flatt’s interview from the 2023 Tulsa Shootout, in which the diminutive speedster described how he passed another driver for third place at a pivotal point in the race. Braxton won the 2023 Tulsa Shootout Jr. Sprint Driller while piloting Chad Boat Industries’ No. 81 Restricted Micro.
“When I first started, my dad taught me this trick,” Braxton clarified. It’s known as the bump-and-run. Like, coming into the corner or out of the corner I just bump ‘em and then that would slide them up the track a little bit so I can get under him. That worked for me when I tried it.
Perhaps the description of the ancient method by Braxton left Dale Earnhardt Jr. speechless. Earnhardt Jr., who was once a full-time racing car driver for organizations like Dale Earnhardt Inc. and Hendrick Motorsports, is obviously aware of how significant this contentious decision can occasionally be. Even though Earnhardt Jr. stopped competing in NASCAR full-time in 2017, he still races on occasion.
He has driven the No. 88 vehicle for JR Motorsports in at least one NASCAR Xfinity Series race every year since retiring. Earnhardt Jr., his sister Kelley Earnhardt, and Rick Hendrick, the owner of Hendrick Motorsports, are co-owners of JR Motorsports.
Due to his commitment to call races for TNT and Amazon Prime, Dale Earnhardt Jr. will not participate in any NASCAR-sanctioned events in 2025. In addition to Earnhardt Jr., the media behemoths selected renowned TV sports commentator Adam Alexander and seasoned former crew chief Steve Letarte to host the Cup Series.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. announces the race dates for the forthcoming season, saying, “See y’all in August.” As previously stated, Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s responsibilities in the broadcast booth will prevent him from competing in any NASCAR races in 2025. He is still able to race Late Models, though.
He recently revived the legendary No. 8 Budweiser Chevrolet by racing it in the Florence Motor Speedway’s South Carolina 400. The two-time Xfinity Series winner stated that he would continue to compete in a few Late Model events through 2025, despite his terrible P28 result. Finally, the date of his 2025 first race has been revealed. FloRacing claims that he made the announcement via one of his Instagram stories last week.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. wrote, “See y’all in August.” Fans can watch him race exclusively on FloRacing. Dale Earnhardt Jr. will race at Florence Motor Speedway on August 29, right before the Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway that same weekend.
