Another NASCAR driver has stated that he will be attending the Chili Bowl, which is quickly approaching. Spire Motorsports doesn’t seem to be on the same page as teams like Joe Gibbs Racing, who have ultimately changed their minds and permitted drivers to resume dirt racing. However, Spire Motorsport declared that Justin Haley will compete in the RC Chilli Bowl in order to defend his title prior to the 2025 Cup Series. In addition to the Chili Bowl Nationals, Tulsa, Oklahoma hosts the RC Chili Bowl, a radio-controlled (RC) dirt oval race. Haley plans to use an RC to recapture his 2024 title in the street stock division, despite Spire Motorsports’ prohibitions on dirt car racing. While his fans are waiting for him to make a mark at the Daytona International Speedway on 16th February, the RC Chili Bowl also holds a lot of anticipation for the young driver.
On December 20th, Haley shared a photo of his remote-controlled vehicle on Facebook, showcasing his efforts in getting ready for the occasion. “Preparing the 2025 RC Chili Bowl! I was finally able to get these on track this week after working on them for a while! Whitz Bearings are smooth, the XXX Power is lightning fast, and the Team GFRP cars are fast! After a few more testing, we’re heading to Tulsa! “His pursuit of a second RC Chili Bowl title begins on Monday, January 13th and will conclude with the feature events on Saturday, January 18th,” stated a recent Spire Motorsports article announcing his participation in the event. Before heading back to Charlotte, he will compete in the RC late model, midget, and outlaw sprint divisions to continue preparation for the NASCAR Cup Series season.”
Despite just finishing in the top five at Talladega in 2024, the Indiana native was making steady progress with Rick Ware Racing the previous season. Haley will now drive for Spire Motorsports for the 2025 season under the capable direction of Rodney Childers after an improbable trade with Corey LaJoie. He will now have the opportunity to win another championship in Tulsa as he attempts to impress his new team. As a part-time driver, Haley is the only driver to date to win Spire Motorsports’ debut race at the Daytona International Speedway in 2019. The 25-year-old’s departure from Rick Ware Racing may have come as a shock, but it has given fans hope. His 2024 campaign may not appear to be strong by the numbers, but certain results do give Spire hope for the future.
