Rumors that Belichick was considering leaving his Tar Heels job were addressed by Jordan Hudson. Although there had been rumors that Belichick was interested in coaching the Dallas Cowboys, the position wasn’t available until after he had already committed to North Carolina. Belichick did not sign his contract with the institution, according to CBS Sports. She shared a picture of the two standing with a football and Belichick wearing Carolina blue on Instagram. With the description, “Pictured: two people who are overtly committed to @uncfootball,” she wrote.
Michael Lombardi, who is the general manager of the North Carolina football program, also threw cold water on the rumors of Belichick jumping back to the pros.
