The Kiwi driver stated that he simply races on the track and goes racing “without any goals” He noted that he has been using this strategy for a while and gives it his all when competing on the weekends. “Do you feel like your best is good enough here?” the interviewer questioned, going on. [From 01:42 forward] In response, Shane van Gisbergen said: “I hope so. Yes, I am here for that reason. Yes, I am certain I can perform the job. Yes, and I am aware that Justin has been fantastic in providing me with whatever I require in order to fully immerse myself in this environment and gain knowledge. Indeed, it’s just a matter of time. I’m confident I can make it. It simply depends on how long the oval side will take.

Alongside teammates Ross Chastain and Daniel Suarez, the New Zealand driver will drive the #88 Chevy Camaro ZL1 in the Cup Series as a full-time driver for Trackhouse Racing.

During his NASCAR Cup Series debut, Shane van Gisbergen shared his thoughts on Red Bull’s comeback

Red Bull and Shane van Gisbergen, a driver for Trackhouse Racing, have a long and close relationship. Since 2016, the energy drink behemoth has supported the driver and watched him win three Supercar Championship titles. In 2025, Red Bull will sponsor a few races in the Kiwi driver’s #88 Chevy Camaro ZL1. Kansas Speedway will host the playoff race after Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Sonoma Raceway, Iowa Speedway, and Daytona International Speedway.

This is particularly noteworthy because the massive energy drink company hasn’t participated in NASCAR since 2011. After they got back, Shane van Gisbergen wrote:

With @redbullmotors in @nascar, I’m so thrilled to be racing with Wiiings on my car once more! 👐 Back home, they have been my biggest fans, so it’s fantastic to have them join @TeamTrackhouse! 😀

With three victories, seven top-five, and ten top-ten finishes in his inaugural season, the three-time Supercar Championship winner demonstrated his mettle in the 2024 Xfinity Series. Gisbergen still needs to fill the vacuum left by oval supremacy, though, as all of his victories came on the road course.
